I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
Compassion. How do you define compassion? It’s an action word. You act. You do something to make a dreadful situation for someone else better. How did Jesus show compassion? Everywhere Jesus went He helped anyone out of their sorrowful condition. Let’s check it out in the Bible, the final authority. In the book of Matthew chapter 9 verse 35 to 36 it says, Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages. He taught in their synagogues and told people the Good News about the kingdom. And he healed all kinds of diseases and sicknesses. He saw the crowds of people and felt sorry for them because they were worried and helpless. They were like sheep without a shepherd.” (ICB)
JESUS, COMPASSIONATE THROUGH AND THROUGH, THE MOST CARING PERSON WHO EVER WALKED THIS EARTH AND STILL…
Jesus hasn’t changed at all. He is the same person yesterday in Bible times as He is right now and lives on in your inner being for all eternity.
In the book of Hebrews chapter 13 verse 8 it reads, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (ICB)
Jesus is compassionate. He cares and He shares…
In the book of Matthew chapter 14 verse 14 it says, “When Jesus arrived, he saw a large crowd. He felt sorry for them and healed those who were sick.” (ICB)
“Jesus felt sorry for the blind men. He touched their eyes, and at once they were able to see. Then the men followed Jesus.” (Book of Matthew chapter 20 verse 24, ICB)
Jesus is the perfect example of compassion.
In the book of Matthew chapter 15 verse 32 it states, “Jesus called his followers to him and said, “I feel sorry for these people. They have been with me three days, and now they have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry. They might faint while going home.” (ICB)
Check out George Muller’s story, a caring person who shared everything he could with orphan children from 1836 until 1958 in Bristol, England. He was a Christian who was dramatically influenced by Jesus. Click on the link below to learn more about his inspiring life of compassion…
Jesus empathizes with our traumatic experiences. While on earth, He lived it. Jesus knows how we feel. Jesus is compassionate…
“When the Lord saw her, he felt very sorry for her. Jesus said to her, “Don’t cry.” (Book of Luke chapter 7 verse 13, ICB)
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
