I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
Are you a giver? Do you love to give? It’s better to live life with an open hand than a closed fist. When you bless others you get blessed in return. It does something to you. Giving makes you feel good to know someone else is on top of the moon because somehow you made their day.
Once there was an old man who took his daily walks around the neighborhood. He wore the same bleak frown every time. A woman was out with her baby bundled up in the carriage when her tot stuck his cute little baby head out of the carriage. He was wearing the funniest beanie you have ever laid eyes on. He looked up at the old man with that precious toothless grin then babbled. The old man caught it! He smiled back, chuckled which turned into a full-blown belly laugh and waved to the baby. Even this little baby knew something about giving and made this old man’s happy day, Ooh…
In the Bible it says it better to give than to receive…Let’s take a closer looksie, “I showed you in all things that you should work as I did and help the weak. I taught you to remember the words of Jesus. He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Books of Acts chapter 20 verse 35, ICB)
When you give, don’t do it with a chip on your shoulder, do it with a smile on your face with a pep in your step, don’t drag your feet! Why? Because in the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 9 verse 7 it says, “Each one should give, then, what he has decided in his heart to give. He should not give if it makes him sad. And he should not give if he thinks he is forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily.” (ICB)
Mm, you might say, I only have this much to give…You can’t give what you don’t have; I get it… So give what you’ve got.
In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 8 verse 12 it reads, “If you want to give, your gift will be accepted. Your gift will be judged by what you have, not by what you do not have.” (ICB)
Remember, in everything you do…” So if you eat, or if you drink, or if you do anything, do everything for the glory of God.” (Book of 1 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 31, ICB)
Giving, the Bible way.
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
