I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
There are positive thoughts and then there are negative thoughts. Yes, we all want to have positive thoughts, but usually the negative thoughts creep in and stay much too long. What do we do? Push them out ASAP! God’s Word has some positive thoughts about that…In the book of Philippians chapter 4 verse 8 it says, “Brothers, continue to think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.” (ICB)
If you’re overthinking about a bad grade you received and the word fair which was stamped on your report keeps popping up and won’t take a hike or if someone insulted your new outfit, just trash it. Replace those negative thoughts with positive thoughts. Okay, my grade was fair, but I passed and I will do better next time! So, they didn’t like my new outfit. Did you like it? Of course! That’s great. You have good taste. Think on that!
In the book of Romans chapter 12 verse 2 it states, “Do not be shaped by this world. Instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing to God and what is perfect.” (ICB)
We need to catch negative thoughts in midstream which are bad and not from God…Switch them to good thoughts before they attach themselves to us like Gorilla Glue! In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 5 it reads, “And we destroy every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” (ICB)
When you remove all of that bad stuff that’s jamming your brainwaves, then you have so much room ready for those good Godly thoughts. A clear mind is full of God’s peace.
In the book of Isaiah chapter 26 verse 3 it says, “You, Lord, give true peace.
You give peace to those who depend on you. You give peace to those who trust you.” (ICB)
God, examine me and know my heart. Test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any bad thing in me. Lead me in the way you set long ago.” (Book of Psalms chapter 139 verse 23 to 24, ICB)
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
