I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
Merciful, Loving, Patient, Faithful, and Fair…How do I know because the Bible shows me so…
God is Merciful.
Let’s check it out starting out in the book of Psalms chapter 108 verse 3 it says, “The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love.” (ICB)
“There is no God like you. You forgive people who are guilty of sin. You don’t look at the sins of your people who are left alive. You, Lord, will not stay angry forever. You enjoy being kind.” (Book of Micah chapter 7 verse 18, ICB)
“Let us, then, feel free to come before God’s throne. Here there is grace. And we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.” (Book of Hebrews chapter 4 verse 16, ICB)
God is Loving.
In the book of John chapter 3 verse 16 it reads, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. (ICB)
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (Book of 1 John chapter 4 verse 8, ICB)
“But Christ died for us while we were still sinners. In this way God shows his great love for us. (Book of Romans chapter 5 verse 8, ICB)
“But Christ died for us while we were still sinners. In this way God shows his great love for us. (Book of Psalms chapter 136 verse 1, ICB)
God is Patient.
In the book of 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 8 it says, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: To the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.” (ICB)
“Patience and encouragement come from God. And I pray that God will help you all agree with each other the way Christ Jesus wants.” (Book of Romans chapter 15 verse 5, ICB)
“But I was given mercy. I was given mercy so that in me Christ Jesus could show that he has patience without limit. And he showed his patience with me, the worst of all sinners. Christ wanted me to be an example for those who would believe in him and have life forever.” (Book of 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 4-5, ICB)
God is Faithful.
In the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 9, it states, “God is faithful. He is the One who has called you to share life with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (ICB)
“But the Lord is faithful. He will give you strength and protect you from the Evil One.” (Book of 2 Thessalonians chapter 3 verse 3, ICB)
“So know that the Lord your God is God. He is the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes. He does this for people who love him and obey his commands.” (Book of Deuteronomy chapter 7 verse 9, ICB)
“Lord, your love reaches to the heavens. Your loyalty goes to the skies.” (Book of Psalms chapter 36 verse 5, ICB)
God is Fair.
In the book of Psalms chapter 89 verse 14 it says, “Your kingdom is built on what is right and fair. Love and truth are in all you do.” (ICB)
“The Lord wants to show his mercy to you. He wants to rise and comfort you. The Lord is a fair God. And everyone who waits for his help will be happy.” (Book of Isaiah chapter 30 verse 18)
“He is like a rock. What he does is perfect. He is always fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong. He is right and fair.” (Book of Deuteronomy 32 verse 4, ICB)
“When things are done fairly, good people are happy, but evil people are frightened.” (Book of Proverbs chapter 21 verse 15, ICB)
“God will reward or punish every person for what he has done.” (Book of Romans chapter 2 verse 6, ICB)
God’s character displays awe-inspiring qualities and so much more!
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
