I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
You can get so much done when you’re agreeable. You reach your goals. You complete your mission. You reach the finish line. When you’re disagreeable, you get nothing done. Every assignment is left undone. Incomplete.
Let’s say there are two groups of students working on a class volunteer project. Both groups have to come up with a project which serves their community. The first group readily agreed on their project which benefits the homeless shelter in their surrounding area. They immediately started working on their idea and reaching critical deliverables. Shortly thereafter, they fully executed their plan which was a major success!
The second group was the complete opposite. They couldn’t even get to first base so to speak. They couldn’t agree on anything. One person wanted to do this, and the other person wanted to do that…Each opportunity to voice an idea or take a step forward in meeting an objective always turned into a rowdy debacle! This group didn’t get far at all. In fact, they never made it out of the gate!
I have a feeling God’s Word has a whole lot to say about togetherness…Unity. In the book of Amos chapter 3 verse 3 it says, “Two people will not walk together unless they have agreed to do this.” (ICB)
“If so, make me very happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and having one mind and purpose.” (Book of Philippians chapter 2 verse 2, ICB)
When you’re in agreement with each other. God’s peace and love are operating in the midst.
In the book of Psalms chapter 133 verse 1 it says, “It is good and pleasant
when God’s people live together in peace!” (ICB)
“Do all these things; but most important, love each other. Love is what holds you all together in perfect unity.” (Book of Colossians chapter 3 verse 14, ICB)
So, what does God want and expect from all of us?
In the book of Romans chapter 15 verse 5 to 6 it reads, “Patience and encouragement come from God. And I pray that God will help you all agree with each other the way Christ Jesus wants. Then you will all be joined together, and you will give glory to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (ICB)
Let’s come into agreement, Amen!
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
