I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.

Income is what you earn for your labor. At some point in our lives we all have to work to earn a living in order to live and take care of ourselves as well as our families someday.

In the book of Proverbs chapter 14 verse 23 it says, “Those who work hard make a profit. But those who only talk will be poor.” (ICB)

If you don’t work you won’t eat. You won’t have decent clothes, a roof over your head, no internet and a dead cell phone! Yikes! You get my point. You have to work, put your hand to something, not just talk about it and shoot the breeze all day long…In the book of Proverbs chapter 10 verse 4 it reads; A lazy person will end up poor. But a hard worker will become rich.” (ICB)

God has given us all types of skills to use for His Glory! We have power in our hands to make money, for increase and to gain wealth. There’s a story in the Bible about three servants who were entrusted with pouches of gold coins from their master.  He told them to take care of his stuff while he was away. The first servant was given 5 pouches of gold coins, the second servant was given 2 pouches of gold coins, and the third servant was given one pouch of gold coins. The first servant with 5 pouches of gold coins invested it and doubled it, the second servant with 2 pouches of gold coins invested it and doubled it as well, and the third servant with one pouch of gold coins put it away for safe keeping until his master returned…Let’s see how it all turned out for them. In the book of Matthew chapter 25 verse 14 to 30 it states; “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who was going to another place for a visit. Before he left, he talked with his servants. The man told them to take care of his things while he was gone. He decided how much each servant would be able to care for. He gave one servant five bags of money. He gave another servant two bags of money. And he gave a third servant one bag of money. Then the man left. The servant who got five bags went quickly to invest the money. The five bags of money earned five more. It was the same with the servant who had two bags of money. He invested the money and earned two more. But the servant who got one bag of money went out and dug a hole in the ground. Then he hid his master’s money in the hole.

“After a long time the master came home. He asked the servants what they did with his money. The servant who got five bags of money brought five more bags to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, you trusted me to care for five bags of money. So I used your five bags to earn five more.’ The master answered, ‘You did well. You are a good servant who can be trusted. You did well with small things. So I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my happiness with me.’

“Then the servant who got two bags of money came to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of money to care for. So I used your two bags to earn two more.’ The master answered, ‘You did well. You are a good servant who can be trusted. You did well with small things. So I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my happiness with me.’

“Then the servant who got one bag of money came to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, I knew that you were a hard man. You harvest things you did not plant. You gather crops where you did not sow any seed. So I was afraid. I went and hid your money in the ground. Here is the bag of money you gave me.’ The master answered, ‘You are a bad and lazy servant! You say you knew that I harvest things I did not plant, and that I gather crops where I did not sow any seed? So you should have put my money in the bank. Then, when I came home, I would get my money back with interest.’

“So the master told his other servants, ‘Take the bag of money from that servant and give it to the servant who has ten bags of money. Everyone who uses what he has will get more. He will have much more than he needs. But the one who does not use what he has will have everything taken away from him.’ Then the master said, ‘Throw that useless servant outside, into the darkness! There people will cry and grind their teeth with pain.” (ICB)

The two servants who doubled their currency showed up and went to work. They were promoted…Yay! Stars, streamers, and banners! The servant who held on to his one pouch was simply a disgrace. He was demoted and rejected.

In the book of 2 Thessalonians chapter 3 verse 10 it says; “When we were with you, we gave you this rule: “If anyone will not work, he will not eat.” (ICB)

Always remember…It does not matter whom you are working for… Put your best foot forward as if you are working for the Lord… All for the Glory of God!

“In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for men.” (Book of Colossians 3:23, ICB)
