I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
Promises, promises, promises…I promise! I know we have said or heard those two words before. But were the promises kept? I’m sure some were and most probably were not. Only God keeps every promise, for keeps! What does the Bible say about God’s promises.
In book of Philippians chapter 4 verse 19 it says, “My God will use his wonderful riches in Christ Jesus to give you everything you need.” (ICB)
Everything you NEED not Anything you WANT…
In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 20 it reads, “The “Yes” to all of God’s promises is in Christ. And that is why we say “Amen”[a] through Christ to the glory of God.” (ICB)
Footnotes
- 1:20 “Amen” “When a person says “Amen,” it means he agrees with the things that were said.”
Amen!
Let us check out another promise of God in the book of 2 Peter chapter 1 verse 4, it states, “Through his glory and goodness, he gave us the very great and rich gifts he promised us. With those gifts you can share in God’s nature. And so the world will not ruin you with its evil desires.” (ICB)
God is so good all the time! Amen? Amen!
Why does God give us promises? Mm…In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 7 verse 1 it reads, “Dear friends, we have these promises from God. So we should make ourselves pure—free from anything that makes body or soul unclean. We should try to become perfect in the way we live, because we respect God.” (ICB)
Oh, those wondrous promises of God, which He can only deliver! Let us see in the book of Psalm chapter 84 verse 11 it says, “The Lord God is like our sun and shield. The Lord gives us kindness and glory. He does not hold back anything goodfrom those whose life is innocent.” (ICB)
And yes, it gets better than this…In the book of 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9 it states, “The Lord is not slow in doing what he promised—the way some people understand slowness. But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost. He wants everyone to change his heart and life.” (ICB)
Trust God, the Lord got you! In the book of Deuteronomy chapter 31 verse 8 it reads, “The Lord himself will go before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you or forget you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t worry.” (ICB)
Only Believe…In the book of John chapter 3 verse 16 it says. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.” (ICB)
Promises, Promises, Promises! God’s Promises…Promise Keeper for Keeps!
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
