I love reading God’s Word and you should too, it’s your compass to get you through! In the morning, during the evening or maybe for a mid-day break, just pick up your Bible and read it every day.
Have you ever wanted to do something that you felt you just had to do and nothing on this green earth was going to stop you because you believed with all of your heart it could be done? Your family thought you were stressed and just needed a good night’s sleep, your fellow school chums joked and laughed, even your best friend who you have known since second grade had worries.
It’s all about faith. If whatever you’re praying and believing for lines up with God’s will for your life, then it’s a done deal. It’s believing you have it now even before you can see it physically. Did you know that it’s impossible to please God without faith. Let’s see what the Bible has to say about faith…In the book of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 it says, “Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.” (ICB)
How do you get faith? In the book of Romans chapter 10 verse 17 it states “So faith comes from hearing the Good News. And people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ.” (ICB)
What is faith?
In the book of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 it reads, “Faith means being sure of the things we hope for. And faith means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.” (ICB)
“We live by what we believe, not by what we can see.” (Book of 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse7, ICB)
“Jesus answered, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth. You can say to this mountain, ‘Go, mountain, fall into the sea.’ And if you have no doubts in your mind and believe that the thing you say will happen, then God will do it for you. So I tell you to ask for things in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours.” (Book of Mark chapter 11 verse 22-24, ICB)
There are many “dare to believe” stories in the Bible, a favorite of mine is the incredible tale about the three Hebrew boys whose faith was tested in a ferocious fiery furnace! But because of their unquenchable faith they came out cool as a cucumber and smelling like a rose.
Let’s read all about it in the book of Daniel chapter 3 verse 16-27…
“Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego answered the king. They said, “Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves to you. You can throw us into the blazing furnace. The God we serve is able to save us from the furnace and your power. If he does this, it is good. But even if God does not save us, we want you, our king, to know this: We will not serve your gods. We will not worship the gold statue you have set up.”
Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual. Then he commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The king told the soldiers to throw them into the blazing furnace.
So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were tied up and thrown into the blazing furnace. They were still wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes. The king was very angry when he gave the command. And the furnace was made very hot. The fire was so hot that the flames killed the strong soldiers who took Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego there. Firmly tied, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego fell into the blazing furnace.
Then King Nebuchadnezzar was very surprised and jumped to his feet. He asked the men who advised him, “Didn’t we tie up only three men? Didn’t we throw them into the fire?”
They answered, “Yes, our king.”
The king said, “Look! I see four men. They are walking around in the fire. They are not tied up, and they are not burned. The fourth man looks like a son of the gods.”
Then Nebuchadnezzar went to the opening of the blazing furnace. He shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, come out! Servants of the Most High God, come here!”
So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire. When they came out, the princes, assistant governors, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies. Their hair was not burned. Their robes were not burned. And they didn’t even smell like smoke.”
And God didn’t stop there…. More to come later. See you soon and in the meantime read the Bible for yourself.
